Coffee Chat 1.13.21

Fancy a cup of coffee? Grab one and let’s chat. So…how are you? What’s new? Besides the pandemic, civil unrest and attempted overturn of the Government that is? But for real….what a crazy time in our history. I, like so many others, keep thinking, how could things possibly get worse? And then something else happens. My hope is after the Inauguration, things will calm down at least a little bit.

We’re pretty much continuing to take life one day at a time over here. Nate found out his office is eligible for group 1b for the Covid vaccine, so he will likely be getting vaccinated in the next couple of months. I haven’t heard anything about my office yet. We know more and more people who work in healthcare that have been vaccinated now so I’m really thankful for that and somewhat hopeful about the light at the end of the tunnel.

We’ve been keeping busy on projects at home as we try to get the house in better shape to sell this summer or fall. Each week we’ve been filling our garbage bin and then some and I don’t see that changing anytime soon! My goal is to really start attacking the clutter. I have Friday and Monday off from work. Friday Ollie still has school, so I think while he’s with my mom doing his learning, I’m going to work on his room a bit without him around. This is all stuff that’s been needing to be done even if we weren’t planning on moving, but I’m glad the move is kicking us in the bootie to get these things done.

Ollie’s new favorite activity is sledding. He got into a couple of years ago too, but not as hardcore as he seems to be into it this year. I’m not complaining. It is getting us outside, getting us exercise and it’s a safe activity we can do on the weekends, so I think as long as there is snow we’ll be out at the hill at least once a week.

Anyway, that’s what I have for now. Let’s meet up again next month and maybe the news headlines won’t be the first thing we have to talk about by then. One can hope.

  1. So glad to hear that Nate is eligible to get the vaccine soon. They’re setting up “mass vaccination sites” here in CA and I hope it’ll speed up the distribution of vaccines here!

Besides that, I am pretty much sitting tight, hoping for no more unrest/violence before inauguration day. I am worried though.

  2. I’m so glad that Nate is getting the vaccine, and that you have been able to get outside with Ollie. I haven’t been sledding in forever!
We made it to – and past – inauguration day, and I hope that you have exhaled a bit… I know I have.

  3. I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying your new favourite activity, sledging. It sounds like it’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to join in on the fun when it starts snowing here! So until then, make sure you bundle up and enjoy the cold weather while we still have some left!
