Currently – January 2021

I missed the Currently post last month while I was taking another blogging break. I love Anne’s monthly link up, so I’m happy to be back at it today. Here are some current happenings in my world based on the prompts for this month.

Currently I am…

Beginning...another reading challenge for the year on Goodreads. Last year I challenged myself to read 30 books, I made it to 22. This year I have lowered my number to 25. That gives me two weeks to read a book and I think it’s doable, especially when I’ve already finished two books and it’s only January 6th!

Feeling…hopeful. The news out of Georgia last night, the Inauguration being just a couple of weeks away, folks I know getting the Covid vaccine, all have me feeling hopeful about the year and it’s a good feeling.

Organizing…stuff at home. I should be doing more, but one big thing I did is organized all my earrings in a new earring organizer I got from Nate’s cousin for Christmas. I love it and I can see all my earrings now.

Resolving… no resolutions for this girl. I prefer to focus on my word of the year and that’s kind of it.

Wondering… when I’ll be able to get the Covid vaccine. Nate found out his company is eligible to vaccinated in group 1b because of work they do in clinics and long term care facilities so he may get it in the next couple of months. From what I can tell I’m pretty far down the list so I’m curious how much longer it will be.

  1. Trying to feel hopeful – but all the news that arrived after the Georgia news… terrible. We just need to get to January 20! And I’m wondering the same about the vaccine. Happy that my husband will be getting his 2nd dose this week, but I imagine I’m pretty low on the list as a young-ish, healthy person who works from home. Curious when we’re going to know if it’s safe for kids too.

  2. I love the new look of your website Beth.
January always means updating my Goodreads challenge and I went with 30 books! I’m not making resolutions and long lists of goals this year. I’m also just focusing on my word for the year 🙂

  4. Since I’m reading this late, obviously we all know about the Capitol yesterday. I’m so disgusted by it.
I am glad for the results in George and Biden FINALLY being confirmed as the President-Elect. I’m hopeful and nervous for 2021. I just don’t know what time will bring, but hopefully mostly good.

  5. I love your word that you chose this year. I feel like the whole country needs to choose that word for 2021. I’m trying to get organized at home too. I love that earrings organizer!

  6. I love how a lot of us are feeling hopeful and wondering when we’ll get the Covid vaccine. I keep being reminded that though we may be apart, we’re all in together.

  7. Hopeful is definitely how I felt at the beginning of the year, but man, 2021 has been a dumpster fire so far…. I do hope things will look up soon.
