Currently in December

And just like that we’re at the last Currently of 2019! I love Anne’s monthly link up of current happenings to check in on where things are at. She’s got some good ones this month, so let’s just dive right in!

Currently I am….

Wrapping – birthday presents. Technically I’m done with birthday presents though, but yesterday I wrapped Ollie’s birthday presents. We gave him his own game for the Nintendo Switch (Mario Kart), a stuffed Luigi doll and a Mario Christmas ornament. Can you sense a theme?

Baking – Cookies! It’s National Cookie Day and I’m ready to start my holiday baking. My mom and I have our list of goodies to make and I’m really looking forward to getting in the kitchen.

Sending – Christmas cards. My cards arrived from Shutterfly over the weekend so now I just need to get them addressed.

Lighting – My beautiful new pre-lit tree from Target. I used to be all about the real Christmas tree, but I tell you, it’s so nice not having to vacuum up needles and it was easier to decorate too. It looks so nice in a dark room too.

Enjoying – the holiday season. I said in my goals and mantras post that I want to slow down and enjoy each moment of the season because I know it will go by fast. So I’ve really been finding the joy in each little moment so far and it’s been lovely.

It is my favorite time of the year and it’s been pretty darn good so far! I hope you are all having a good start to the holiday season as well.

  1. I’m glad Ollie had a nice birthday! I still need to get started on wrapping gifts. I want to wrap some of the ones I’m mailing, so that needs to happen first. Gotta get on that before the post office is a mad house. LOL I’m going to try and make gluten free peanut butter cookies this week for my cookie exchange – hopefully they’ll turn out well!!!

  2. Those will be such fun birthday presents! Hendrik and Peter have been playing Mario Kart together lately, so he’s suddenly into the Mario characters too 🙂 And much as I love going to pick out a real tree, having a pre-lit one (and that one looks gorgeous!) really would free up some time to take joy in other holiday moments… Enjoy the season!

  3. Your tree is absolutely gorgeous! And you photographed it so well!! All of your pics are lovely…what do you use for a camera? I, too, am all about enjoying the little moments of the holiday season. My 8 yr old definitely helps make that happen! xo
P.S. LOVE the name of your blog 🙂

    1. Oh thank you so much! I use my iPhone 11Pro to take most of my pictures and I admit I play with filters in Instagram a bit here and there to. My boy just turned six and he is definitely helping make all the little holiday moments happen too. Thank you for stopping by! <3

  4. Your tree is stunning! And such a great picture of it! I love your photo quality…what do you use? I too, am all about enjoying the little moments of the season. My 8 yr old helps make sure that happens! xo

  5. This post just feels super festive and your tree looks great. I know some rave about a real Christmas tree but I don’t mind using one from a shop. As long as I can decorate I’m happy. Plus less vacuuming haha.

  6. I like fake trees best because it’s one less thing to worry about. Pre-lit ones are another level. I hate putting lights on trees. They *never* look quite right so I’m enjoying the pre-lit one this year.

  7. Well you are well into the season. My Shutterfly cards arrived over the weekend while I was away, and I didn’t quite have the motivation to crack open the box on Monday. Tomorrow is another day!
