What's Up Weekend

What’s Up Weekend 11.8.19

It’s Friday! And even better, it’s the Friday before a THREE-day weekend. Thank you, City Government and a huge thank you to all Veterans). I plan on making the most of this weekend even if it’s as cold as December or January outside, brrr! Before the weekend starts though, I’m here with my bloggy sisters for our weekly What’s Up Weekend post. This is our place to share the good things of the week, the stuff we’re grateful for and that made us happy. Without further ado, here is my happy list this week.

Our beautiful family pictures from my friend Erin. I seriously want to post them all, but this post would get too long, so here’s just one more that I loved.

Getting Ollie his flu shot and him saying it didn’t even hurt!

My inspirational bracelet that showed up after meeting my first 99 Walks goal. Such a good reminder for me each day. I can and I will!

Ollie helping make dinners this week and being willing to try things. He now likes broccoli with parmesan cheese. It’s the little things!

Ugly Delicious on Netflix. We just watched an episode about home cooking and comfort food, and it was heartwarming.

My warm snuggly bed on these crazy cold nights.

Also, my warm snuggly cat on cold days.

Streaming my first Christmas music of the year. Yep. I’m one of those people now. I did it last year too. I’m not going hard core yet. Just a little sprinkling in here and there.

Discussing birthday plans with Nate for our date night out.

Our yogurt experiment turned out pretty good! It’s not perfect yet, but I think we’ll get there.

Off and running to the weekend now! As I said, thanks to Veterans Day I get a three-day weekend. I don’t have too many major plans other than I’m going to a Paint Your Christmas Tree class on Sunday (remember those old-fashioned ceramic Christmas trees? I’m making one!) and I’m helping my friend Amy for a bit on Monday prep for her wedding at the end of next week. Beyond that I plan on spending some quality time with my best guys. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Feel free to link up with the ladies and I below and check out the other posts!

  1. Your photos are stunning and that bracelet (and the message on it) is beautiful.
So sweet that Ollie helps you make dinner and is trying new things.
Planning birthday celebrations is always so much fun – enjoy!
Have a wonderful 3 day weekend – a paint your Christmas tree class sounds fun!

  2. Aw, I love that photo of you and Ollie!! So beautiful. I love those old fashioned Christmas trees, and I’d love to paint one some year – that’s awesome you’re going to a class! I hope you have a great three-day weekend. I’m a little jealous. HAH! And your cat DOES look like my Charlie. I love when they snuggle.

  3. Omg I can’t get enough of these sweet photos you shared and that fall photo with you and Ollie is just so stinking cute ❤️ Beautiful! Also I saw you guys were experimenting with yogurt. That’s awesome and I’d love to try that too sometimes!

Aww I love that you are going to paint one of those ceramic Christmas trees—how fun! Hope you have a great long weekend ahead! Will have to look for that show on Netflix. Hello hibernation and hairy legs! Oh. Am I the only one who gets excited about that? 🤣

  4. That Christmas tree project sounds so fun! And way to go Ollie–broccoli with parmesan is SO good, but I still can’t get anyone else in my family to eat it. Both kids like to help me cook and bake, and Violet usually tries things, but Jona is still pretty picky. Sigh. Hope you had a good weekend!

  5. I adore that bracelet. So pretty and the words are very powerful.
My son wanted to put up a Christmas tree and stream some music and I just about choked because we don’t do Christmas early. Like our pumpkins will rot on our porch till December 1st yo. Sigh…so I went and bought him a small tree and put on Sia’s Christmas because it’s not too Christmas. It’s called compromise.
Your pictures are darling as always. I love seeing them xoxo
