Fall Love

I know, I know. It’s not really Fall yet. The Autumnal Equinox is still a couple of weeks away. I know that there are folks that love summer and are clinging to every last sweaty day. You want your margaritas and not your Pumpkin Spice. That’s fine. You do you. But I’m going to do me. And Fall is my season. From where I stand, the calendar hits September and I am all in. Especially this year. The summer kind of sucked. I’m not going to dwell on it, you’ve already heard my sob stories. I will admit, at first I wasn’t 100% looking forward to Fall because I was nervous about Ollie going to kindergarten, but one week down and knock on wood, he’s handling the transition quite well. The weather has been quite Fall like and the air just feels magic to me. I am here for it.

We had a quintessential Fall weekend. We went to a church festival, the apple orchard and I made a pie. We made homemade spaghetti with tomato sauce with tomatoes from our garden. I put out all my Fall decor (not the Halloween stuff quite yet though) and I’ve pulled out all my Fall clothing and put away most of the summer stuff. We slept with the windows open and snuggled under warm blankets. I was wearing cozy sweatshirts and black leggings all weekend. And I crossed to the dark side. While I don’t love pumpkin spice lattes (gasp) I tried the pumpkin cream cold brew at Starbucks. And I loved it.

If all my weekends this Fall can look like this, I’ll be quite happy. I know we’ll have warm days yet and that’s fine. I’m still happy to sit outside and enjoy the warm days if we have them. Otherwise I am embracing my season and living it loud. Haters gonna hate, but this pumpkin’s gonna pump. Or something like that anyway….

  1. I’m a big fan of spring and autumn because it is not too cold and not too hot (I sound like Goldilocks I know). But our winter is coming to an end and I’m SO ready for summer. I was so envious seeing everyone’s summer posts and pics while I’m sitting with the heater on full blast lol! Happy to swap seasons now 🙂

  2. That last quote/image is SO ME as well. I love Fall. It’s my absolute favorite season, and Halloween is my favorite holiday, so it’s just nice all around. I’m ready for some more cooler weather. We had some, but it’s getting warm again this week. Sigh. It’s shaping up to be a really busy September and October, but it’s mostly fun things, so I’m okay with that!

  3. It’s like mid 50s where I live, barely getting to 60. It’s freaking fall, I don’t care what a damn calendar says. I wore mittens in my house yesterday because I refuse to turn my heat on until November 1. Last year I made it to the week before Halloween before I saw all the kids shivering on the couch. HA! But every year- that’s my goal because I am poor. LOL

  4. I love fall and am looking forward to it… but although the temperatures have been a bit more moderate, it still very much feels like summer over here.
