What I Wore: August

It’s the last Wednesday of the month (WHAT??) so it’s time for my What I Wore Wednesday post! I always take the last Wednesday of the month to share some of my favorite looks I shared over on Instagram and I use this space to talk a little more about each one. This month was a bit weird to dress for, started out warm and ended up a little cool! I’m not complaining though, I’m actually ready for some Fall weather, gasp! Without further ado, my favorite looks of August.

Tank top – Ann Taylor (from cousin), Vest – Sonoma (Kohls), Pants – Faded Glory (thrifted), Shoes – from sister in law, Jewelry – Keep Collective

Here’s an example of a look from a warmer day. I think I wasn’t in the mood for a skirt that day, so I wore these fun floral pants that I’ve adored for the last couple of summers. The amount of time I can wear these is pretty limited so I try to get as many wears out of them as I can. This denim vest I purchased three years ago at Kohls is still one of my best closet staples. It goes with literally everything.

Tank top – Lularoe, Skirt – NY&CO (thrifted)

Super simple but super comfy look from another warm day. I loved the colors in this tank top from my friend’s Lularoe shop. It really compliments this skirt nicely. Speaking of this skirt, it’s one of my favorite items I’ve thrifted all summer I think. So comfy and goes with so many things. Hopefully I’ll get a few more wears out of it into the Fall!

Shirt – Old Navy (via ThredUp), Pants – White House Black Market (from cousin), Sandals – from mom

I did a “color” challenge on Instagram earlier this month and this is the look I chose for yellow. I don’t know how I hadn’t thought of putting this top with my favorite white jeans before, but I absolutely adore this look.

Kimono – Lularoe, Jeans – Universal Threads (Target), T-shirt – Ann Taylor (From cousin), Shoes – Payless via mom, Earrings – Scarlett Jade Designs

Hey guess who won bingo again at her friend’s LLR bingo night? That’d be this girl! So I took home this darling kimono for nothing. Love it so much, houndstooth, orange and pink? Yes please!! We’ll be having fun with this piece this Fall.

Jacket – thrifted, Tank Top – LOFT (thrifted), Jeans – Gap (Thrifted), Sandals – from mom, Clutch – Kate Spade (Thrifted), necklace – Etsy

This is a fun look I threw together to go out on a ladies night with my husband’s cousin, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law the other night. I found this top at the cutest store in Stillwater, MN called When Pigs Flew. All sleeveless tops were 30% off that day so I grabbed this one. I’ll be able to wear it into the Fall with this jacket, a jean jacket or my black kimono style sweater. It was worth the purchase I’d say.

So there you have it! I imagine you’ll be seeing me in more and more layers into September here, but you never know. We could still hit 90. It’s Minnesota. Mother Nature loves to keep us guessing!

  1. Omg these looks are all perfect but I love love love #3 the best. I wouldn’t think to combine yellow top with white pants (why?? Why am I so boring?! Lol!) but it’s absolutely adorable together. Thanks for inspiring me with your closet picks! And isn’t it great when you put an old top together with a new jacket? Totally transforms the look!

  2. Your 3rd outfit is my favourite – I’m hoping to wear lots of bright and floral things this summer. I am SO ready for warmer weather after winter! Congratulations on winning bingo 🙂

  3. I am so bad at matching things, but you do an awesome job. I love that kimono – so cute, and perfect for the fall. I really like your denim vest and that jacket in the last photo. Adorable, as always. 🙂
