March Favorites

It’s almost the end of the month. How is that possible? March is a longer month than February and somehow it feels like it went by faster! Anyway, I thought I’d do another favorites post today, it’s been a nice way to wrap up the month! Here are some favorite things in no particular order.

Favorite Date Night: Cooks of Crocus Hill

We’ve recently started shopping at a local spot to replace some well used items in our kitchen and we discovered they teach cooking classes. Since we’re nerdy foodie type people we thought it might be a fun and unique date night to go to together. We went to one last night on Cuban Food and it was a blast. The Chef was fantastic and we tried several different items that will be fairly easy to recreate in our own kitchen. The class even made me want to cook, I usually don’t enjoy cooking, I am much more of a baker, but now I want to cook all the things!

Favorite Podcast – Rise with Rachel Hollis

I am SO late to the podcast game but I’ve finally jumped on board and I started with my girl crush Rachel Hollis and her Rise podcast. It is amazing. And it’s not just about her, she has the most amazing guests on her show. If you listen to one episode I highly recommend her talk with Joe Biden. That’s right, I said Joe Biden. Another episode I loved was all about blogging and she talks with Amber Kemp-Gerstel who runs a successful crafting blog and was on the show Making It last summer. Overall it’s very inspiring and has been my favorite thing to listen to while I fold and put away laundry. Anything to make those mundane tasks easier right?

Favorite Wine – Bota Box Old Vines Zinfandel

We’ve been really enjoying wine this winter instead of beer as much. We’re still beer people, but when it’s cold there is just something about a glass of wine, specifically a nice red. We’ve taken to buying Bota Box wine to have on hand because sometimes we just want a small glass with dinner here or there and don’t want to open a bottle. We just tried the Old Vines Zinfandel that they have and it is seriously my new favorite. It is smooth and yet full bodied and goes nicely with pasta or meat. Kind of an all purpose table wine. Highly recommend!

Favorite Outing – Game Changers at the Science Museum

I talked about this earlier this month in a What’s Up Weekend post, but the Game Changers exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota is a ton of fun. I have two video game lovers in my house and I tell you, I could have left them at the museum for the entire day and I don’t think they would have missed me! There is a bunch of information on the science behind each game so there is some educational stuff, but really it’s just fun to play them all. If you’re local I can’t recommend it enough.

Favorite Show – Workin’ Moms

Nate was actually the one who suggested we stream this one, it’s a great show out of Canada that you can find on Netflix all about a group of moms that meet at a mommy and me class and are all just going back to work after maternity leave. Each mom has their own struggles with different things. As a working mom there are definitely some things that hit close to home in this show, but what I appreciate is that is light hearted and does have a ton of humor too. If you’re a working mom you will appreciate this one!

Those are the things rocking my socks this month. Did you make any awesome discoveries in March? And what podcasts do you enjoy? I’d love to check out some other ones, so hit me up in the comments!

  1. I need to listen to podcasts more, but I’m the one who loves all the true crime stuff. LOL I recommend My Favorite Murder because yes, it’s about murder, but it’s also two best friends who are hilarious. 🙂

Sounds like you had a great month!! That museum exhibit is one my brother and his son would probably love.

  2. That sounds like such a fun date night! Aaron and I would love something like that too. I haven’t tried htat Bota Box but I’ll have to. I also like keeping a box around, it does make it easy to have a glass with dinner a few nights a week.
