Thrifty Tuesday – Color Quest
Since it’s Tuesday and I haven’t done so in awhile, I thought I’d share a couple of my recent thrifted finds. Yesterday was 50% off at all thrift stores for Martin Luther King Day, so I made a stop at Savers to see if I could find anything good. I also had stopped at Goodwill one day last week too and found a couple of things there as well. I had one goal in mind on both of these trips. Color. Lately I feel like I open my closet and all I see staring back at me are neutrals and darks. So, I set out on a quest to find color. I think I succeeded pretty well!
I had wanted this fox sweater when Old Navy had it a couple of years ago, but I never had the chance to buy it before it was gone. Low and behold, it showed up in my size at my local Goodwill. Thrifters are rewarded for their patience! I’ve also been wanting a gold/yellow pullover sweater and found this great one from LOFT. Next, I couldn’t resist this plaid jacket. It’s cropped and has some great colors. It’s often cold at work so I think it will be nice to have for the rest of the winter. And while it’s more of a neutral again I couldn’t resist this cute dress either. Pair it with some colorful leggings and it’s a win in my book.
Yesterday I found more for Oliver than I really did for myself. I got him four pairs of pants and a shirt. Kid needs to stop growing, seriously. But I did manage to find this cute floral top from Maurices and a lovely Elle brand pink sweater to wear with it.
It’s still winter for a good couple of months here, but that doesn’t mean I can’t infuse some brighter colors into my daily looks. It helps brighten a drab day! My goal now is to try and shop my own closet for awhile before I hit the thrift store again, but we’ll see how that goes – there’ll be another 50% off day on Presidents Day after all!
