Weekend Recap 11.19.18
We had a pretty good weekend I have to say, so I thought I’d share about it. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a weekend recap type post!
Friday night we decided to treat ourselves a little bit and go out for dinner. We hit up our favorite local dive bar for greasy spoon burgers (mini corn dogs and tater tots for Ollie) and then headed home and snuggled up with a very strange movie after Ollie went to bed called An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn. It has Aubrey Plaza whom we both really like and a number of other actors we enjoy as well, but it was definitely an odd one!
Saturday morning we got up and I went in to work for the public open house. It went extremely well, my family came to see everything and it was so nice to have them there! Ollie loves my new desk space!
Saturday afternoon we packed up some stuff for Ollie and dropped him with my mom and dad for a sleepover so we could go out on our early birthday celebration. We went to see Bohemian Rhapsody and it was FANTASTIC. I know that there are some things in the movie that are not true to life but the basic history of Queen is told pretty well and it was just so good. After we were done with the movie we were ready for some dinner, so we hit up what has become one of our favorite restaurants this year, Revival, for some fried chicken and collard greens. Then Nate was like, hey, the night is young and we have no child, let’s go to UpDown – that was maybe not the smartest idea ever, it was so crowded. But, we had a chance to play a couple of games so that was nice.
Sunday we slept in a little bit and then went and got Ollie. We’ve saved up a number of Best Buy gift cards and they started their Black Friday deals early yesterday, so we went and bought a PS4. We had a PS3, but it was starting to have some issues and that’s what we use for all of our streaming and movie needs. We managed to get a pretty darn good deal when all was said and done! After that we went to brunch which was a little bit of a crap show, we had some pretty slow service, but the food was good when we finally got it.
Sunday afternoon I went on my shopping trip with Megan of Eco Resale and had a great time, I’ll have more on that in a separate Thrifty Tuesday post tomorrow, but let’s say she did a great job of picking me some items and even pushing me out of my comfort zone a bit. I can’t wait to share more.
Sunday night we had chili and cornbread over at my in-laws and then settled back at home. Nate and I did a workout when Ollie went to bed and then we chilled with a couple of favorite shows.
It was just an all around good weekend, some work yes, but some fun too. A good balance overall! How was your weekend?
