TBB Asks – May Entertainment

I’m linking up with the Blended Blog today to talk all things entertainment! Such a fun theme for May! Let’s dive right on in to the questions!

(1) Comedy or drama? Depends on my mood, we find we watch a lot of comedy on Friday nights because we’re so tired from the week and don’t want to think too much. Saturdays we’ll pick more of a drama sometimes.

(2) Fiction or non-fiction? I usually choose fiction but I do like a good autobiography once in awhile.

(3) Movies in theatre or at home? I like going to a movie in the theatre but we really don’t do it much anymore, so the answer here is at home. Amazon Prime and Netflix make it easy at least!

(4) Musical or Play? I love a good musical!

(5) Which meal of the day is your favorite to eat out? This is so hard! I love going out for brunch and I love going out for dinner. I’ll say dinner.

(6) Favorite book ever read? I find myself going back to Summer Sisters by Judy Blume just about once a year.

(7) Game night: Yes or No? YES! I love games. Ollie is getting more into playing games all the time so we have family game time and I love it.

(8) Favorite outside game to play? Does disc golf count? If we’re talking like a yard game, then bocce ball.

(9) Favorite TV series ever? Oh boy that’s tough, but probably Friends is still my number one.

(10) Sitcoms growing up or sitcoms of today? Definitely growing up. I miss the old 80s theme songs!

(11) Mini golf or bowling? I am going with mini golf here. I like to be doing something outside when I can!

(12) Favorite movie theatre candy? I used to love those Sno-Caps that were like chocolate chips with sprinkles on them. I don’t know if you can still get them, but I used to always get those!

(13) How do you like your popcorn? Salted with a little butter. At home we sometimes pop it in olive oil and that is really tasty too.

(14) 3D Movies with the glasses: Yes or no? If it’s a short movie then yes, if not, then no. It gives me a headache.

(15) Favorite genre of books to read? I like basic fiction, if there’s a little romance that’s cool, but I’m not necessarily looking for that. I just like a book that tells a good story. If it has a twist (ala Jodi Picoult) that’s cool. I also like a good dystopian style novel every now and then. Or just basic fluff is fun too.

This was a fun survey! I do love entertainment! Be sure to check out the other posts over at the Blended Blog!

  1. Love this one! I love reading your answers each month – I always learn something new about you! I will always think of you now whenever I see Sno-Caps. 🙂

  2. I’ve never heard of popping popcorn in olive oil! I will definitely have to try that! I remember the Snow Cap chocolate chips and I love them with my buttered popcorn!

  3. This was so fun to read, I love the entertainment theme! I’m going to be late to the party and join in on Wednesday. 🙂 Mmm, I love those sno-caps too. We hardly ever go to a movie in the theater anymore, it seems like such a luxury (both in time and money!) these days. And Friends is the best!!

  4. So, I’m not an Amazon Prime tv or Netflix user because I have Comcast through a family account, but I just read that Netflix is steering toward a fantasy and sci-fi oriented platform. I have been thinking about signing back up for a few months, but now I’m not so sure. I had forgotten about the sno-caps. My favorite movie snack is Twizzlers. I could eat those things all day long!

  5. I cannot wait for mini golf! We have an indoor mini golf place here which is cute but it’s not as fun as the outdoor ones in the summer. We have a massive pirate one here. ARRGGGH.
I love that you read that Judy Blume book once a year. I find myself going back to Jenny Lawson’s book Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. She cracks me up every time.
3D movies make my eyes go bonkers! But if I have to…

  6. Ha I totally feel the same way about 3d glasses! Like, I think they’re cool and all, but I’d prefer to watch a movie without the added headache (lol #oldpeoplethoughts).

Mmm… your popcorn sounds delicious with olive oil! Also I love a good game night! Dang it; why don’t we live closer?! Do you ever play cards against humanity? It’s my fav!

  7. I loved these questions too; it’s always fun to talk entertainment. I’m pretty open for most things that I read and watch too. 🙂 And I think disc golf totally counts as an outdoor game.

  8. Great entertainment, Q & A. this is so fun. Loved hearing your choices, Beth. I loved Summer Sisters. Wish I still had a copy. It was one that got passed around my sisters.

  9. I haven’t read any of Judy Blume’s adult fiction, but I grew up on her childrens books! I will have to check that one out! These questions were so fun! 🙂

  10. I do the same thing – Friday nights I just need something mindless and fun. I told someone else that once and they were so confused by that process. Good to know I’m not alone in just chilling rather than paying attention and thinking come 5pm at the end of the week haha

  11. I also love brunch and dinner out – difficult to choose a favourite!
That book must be good if you read it once a year. I loved Judy Blume’s books when I was growing up.
Friday nights after a busy week are the perfect time for watching a comedy 🙂
