Sunshine Blogger Award

I love being tagged in fun posts from other bloggers! My new friend Joanne from Europafox tagged me for the Sunshine Blogger Award which is so very sweet. Huge thank you to Joanne! I’m now supposed to answer her 11 questions and I’m excited to do so, it helps you all get to know me better! Here we go!

(1) If you had 15 minutes in a super-market sweep to grab what you could, what would it be? I’d go with cereal, chips, cookies, and pretty much all the non-healthy stuff, ha! Not to mention, it’s all lightweight so I could carry more of it if I wanted!

(2) If you could invite 5 people to a dinner party (can be from history) who would they be and why? This one is tough, but I think I’ll go more of a historical, or those who are no longer with us approach – Jim Henson because I’m a huge Muppet fan and I’d like to sit and just talk Muppets with him. Fred Rogers because he is one of the most fascinating humans to have ever walked this Earth. Prince, because well, Prince. Robin Williams because someone would need to bring the funny. And we need another female at the table with me, so I’ll go with the Virgin Mary because I have a deep devotion to Mary and well, we both had December babies after all.

(3) Describe your ideal party. Low key, backyard barbeque with friends, kids running around, a bonfire at dark and plenty of beer flowing. Games if the weather is bad. Really need to make this happen this summer!

(4) What is your favorite Christmas film? I talked a lot about this back at Christmas, I have a few favorites and it’s hard to narrow it down, but if I absolutely have to choose one, I’ll go with Home Alone.

(5) If you could institute one Global Law what would it be? World Peace. However we achieve that.

(6) If you could belt out a tune on karaoke better than the original artist, what would it be and where would you sing it? Rolling in the Deep by Adele at the Minnesota State Fair karaoke. Boom.

(7) If you had to choose between living without makeup for a year or living without a smartphone for a year, what would it be? Nate just told me I don’t need makeup. So makeup it is.

(8) Who inspires you most in your day to day life? My husband and my son. Tie.

(9) If you could pick any epitaph for your life – what would you choose? She left a little sparkle everywhere she went.

(10) Who was your first famous crush? Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow. Yep. No shame. Shortly after that it was Neil Patrick Harris in his Doogie Howser, MD days.

(11) Do you have a hair or fashion faux-paux from the past you would like to obliterate with a magic wand, if so what would it be? Photos appreciated haha! Hmm, I suppose it would be the “Mushroom” hair that Nate was never a fan of, ha! And my crazy curly bangs from the 90s as well.

This was a lot of fun to play along with! I’m terrible at writing questions, so I’m suppose to tag five people and write 11 questions, but I’m going to encourage anyone to play along who wants to and answer the same ones Joanne gave me! Thank you again for the fun tag Joanne!!

  1. Haha!! Echo took the words right out of my mouth!! I totally had a mushroom head. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to do a supermarket sweep, did you watch that show when you were a kid? I have three kids, I would go hard and clean that store out.
World Peace would be AMAZING- I hope you’re given the power. At this time I’d even settle for country peace.
    Also, your dinner guests!!

  2. Wow, I can’t believe this is still a thing. I remember awards like this from like, 7 years ago?! Haha, congrats! I hardly ever wear makeup as it is, so I’d pick that one too. I always found the dinner party question to be so hard, and it changes every time I think about/see it! I think one person that stuck has been Melissa McCarthy though- she’s hilarious and seems like she’d have a lot of awesome stories to share!

  3. Too fun! These tags are nice to get to know bloggers a bit better. I pretty much never wear makeup anyway, so I’d go with no makeup for a year. 🙂 Ooh I like your dinner party guests. I’d have to think on that one!

  4. What fun questions! Don’t forget to grab cookie butter, its become a new favorite of mine! I love your ideal party. It reminds me of family reunions when I was a kid. I have always wanted to attend a ball. Super cheesy, but a girl can dream!

  5. Let’s talk logistics of this shopping haul. Chips are light but bulky is size. We would definitely need a cart. Oh, and for some reason my brain says you and I are on this 15 minutes together, so we’re going to have to divide up the store. Assuming the layout of my current grocery store, I’ll let you cover the boxes and bags (cookies, chips, you better grab some licorice too), and I’ll do the more perishables: those weird fruits that you always wanted to try but are cost prohibitive, all of the cheeses, maybe some spinach dip, hummus (don’t forget some pita chips or pretzels!) and maybe chocolate milk. Girls night in your basement!

    1. This sounds perfect to me! We could easily divide and conquer and then yes, girls night in my basement. Let’s do it. Oh wait. Distance. Dang it. When are we building that underground tunnel again? 🙂

  6. Neil Patrick Harris was one of the reasons I wanted to go into medicine and spent 15 years working in doctors offices. I loved him and that show when I was younger. 🙂 If I got to do a supermarket sweet, I’d probably make a trip through the wine aisle and also pick up some Ben & Jerry’s. 🙂

    1. Ah yes, the one problem in MN, we only just passed our Sunday liquor laws, so wine is not sold in my supermarkets yet! If it was, you bet I’d be hitting up that aisle as well. 😉

  7. I wish I could go without makeup but I have been wearing it since I was 12-ish and will probably wear it until I die. Very jealous of those that don’t need it. The smart phone is still pretty new to me, however it has quickly replaced my computer and camera. I can give it up though. So, smart phone it is! I think.

  8. Fun post! Can totally relate to mushroom hair lol!
I totally agree with Lecy – I’d start in the wine section and then off to the ice-cream aisle 🙂

  9. This was so fun to read! Doogie Houser, yes! I also love your epitaph, that’s perfect. I had some mushroom hair years myself, good times 🙂 And a few years with a perm. Yikes.

  10. This was BRILL! I would def book a prime seat at the Minnesota State Fair Karaoke – wouldn’t it be mind boggling to be able to belt that Adele song out! Right with you on mushroom hair – I had a cut like that – we all called it ‘helmet head.’ I also had ‘pudding basin’ as a child. Your dinner party list is awesome – you would have to site Our Lady away from Prince. You gotta post your rules up, tag your 5 and make up your 11 questions now (and the fun continues!) – will look forward to seeing what you come up with! 🙂
