What I Wore Wednesday
Welcome to Phoning It In Week on the blog! Hahaha! I kid. But with it being the holiday week and having the early shift at work I am all about what’s easy. I haven’t shared a What I Wore post in awhile, so here are some favorite outfits of mine from December.
Sweater – Secondhands Fashion, Leggings – Lularoe, Boots – Target, Necklace – Jewel by Thirty One
I didn’t expect to love this sweater as much I have, I’m not usually a turtleneck person, but it’s such a loose fitting cowl neck that it works for me. And I will brag that this color looks amazing on me. There is something about this green that just works so well with my skin tones!
Jacket – Arc’s Value Village, Sweater dress – Garage Sale, Leggings – Lularoe, Boots – from friend, Scarf – Target, Necklace – Thirty One
This look was for my office’s annual meeting and holiday party. If you recall, I was singing with our “band” for that event, so I wanted to look festive and nice! Such a bonus that this entire look hardly cost anything, thrifted and handed down items for the win! I adore these holiday leggings I bought from my Lula lady Cyndy. They feel Christmasy, but also with the birds I feel like they could work into the winter a bit too so I might get a few more wears out them!
Vest, sweater, jeggings – Old Navy, Boots – From friend
This was my walking Old Navy ad. I kid, but pretty much the entire look came from Old Navy and it wasn’t intentional that I put it all together, it’s just how it worked out! I wanted to wear another festive look the day my department had a little holiday potluck. I love this vest I bought last year and I honestly should’ve been wearing it more. Buffalo plaid is good all winter though in my book so I think I’ll pull it out again. I received a lot of compliments on this look. And can we talk about these jeans? I bought myself a pair of pull on jeggings to try from Old Navy and GIRRRRRL. These. Are. Life. I don’t think I can wear regular jeans ever again. I haven’t worn jeans this comfortable since I was pregnant and wearing those maternity jeans with the elastic waistbands! If you haven’t tried these yet, do it. You won’t regret it!
Jacket – Old Navy, Lindsey Kimono – Lularoe, Tank top – Old Navy, Leggings – Target, Boots – Target
I sometimes watch videos on YouTube that show interesting and unique ways to style Lularoe items. One such video was talking about things you could do with the Lindsey Kimono and a suggestion was throw a jean jacket on over it. I kept forgetting I wanted to try this look out, so I finally did. I love it. Lindsey is a bit loose and baggy on me, but the jacket helps pull it in. It adds some length to my jean jacket when I want to wear it with leggings. I will definitely do this look again.
Sweater – Lularoe Sarah, T-shirt – H&M, Pants – Old Navy, Boots – Coach via Garage sale, Necklace – Stella and Dot
And this is another look from a YouTube video. I love, love, LOVE the Sarah duster sweater from Lularoe, but it’s very long and for a short lady like me, sometimes it feels like wearing a bathrobe. But there are lots of tips and ways to shorten it and this is one of them. First you take a hair tie and pull it in a little bit in the back. You can leave it like that or to add some interest, take the ends in front and tie them. I actually liked the silhouette this made and it was comfortable. I’m all about the creativity, I’ll try anything once!
So, there you have it. If I was really on my game I’d have a round up of favorite looks from this entire year, but I’m not that organized and also, I’m not really a fashion blogger anymore, haha! I didn’t see much change in my style this year. Leggings are still life. I’m digging longer tunics and sweaters. And layers are love. I still love my color. These are all things I don’t see changing anytime soon. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, am I right?
