Holiday Tuesday Topics –

Welcome to week two of Holiday Tuesday Topics! This week’s topic is three favorite Christmas songs. This one is hard, I love me some Christmas music!!

(1) Feels Like Christmas by Cyndi Lauper. I have always loved this song, it’s upbeat, it’s fun and it talks about how being with the person you love makes it feel like Christmas every day. If you’ve never heard it, here’s a link. I guarantee it’ll put you in a good mood.

(2) Silent Night. I love singing it in church, but there are a couple of pop versions I enjoy as well – Stevie Nicks on the Very Special Christmas album and also Priscilla Ahn’s version off the album The Hotel Cafe Presents: Winter Songs.

(3) Let Me Be Your Bethlehem by Danielle Rose. I had an opportunity to record this song with my old music group and it’s always been one of my favorites, kind of telling the story of Jesus’ birth. Here’s a link to Danielle’s version. If I can ever figure out how to share ours I will someday!

There you have it! I could list a ton more, but those would be the three I’d pick if I couldn’t listen to any other Christmas music! What are your favorite Christmas songs?

  1. I NEEDED this today. Day two is harder than day one and then discovering the shitstorm that happened when I was away… sigh. I needed the reminder that everything is better with Christmas. The music. The meaning. All of it.

My favourites are Do You Hear What I Hear (pretty much any classic arrangement of it), O Come O Come Emmanuel by Third Day (because I’m still a 16 year old youth group girl at heart) and Vanessa Williams’ Go Tell It On the Mountain (from the David Foster Christmas album)

    1. Do You Hear What I Hear was ALMOST on my list. I love that one too by just about anyone as well. And I’m sorry day two was harder – and that things went to hell while you were gone. Hope day three is doing better for you! <3

  2. Hehe I love the Elf quote. It’s so hard to narrow down a favorite, I agree! I love Natalie Cole’s Caroling Caroling, and Sarah McLaughlan’s Winter’s Night. I also love Michael Buble’s Christmas songs too… There are too many good ones!

  3. This is making me feel even more festive!
It is so difficult to choose just three!
I adore “Oh Holy Night” (I love Celine Deon and Mariah Carey’s version), “Merry Christmas everyone” by Cat Stevens and my entire Boney M Christmas CD (I suppose that is cheating?)
