December Mantras and Goals

Hi everyone! We had a great weekend celebrating the new 4 year old in our house! I’ll have a birthday recap up later this week, but today I’m joining my Peaceful Posse gals for the monthly goals and mantras linkup!

First I wanted to look back at my November goals and how I did.

November Goals

~ Bring a bag of clothes and bags to Style Encore to sell Done! I made a nice little amount of money and bought myself a couple of things as birthday gifts to myself.

~Do at least one Thanksgiving themed craft at home with Ollie Done! We made the cutest turkey handprint placemats for Thanksgiving.

~Clean out the bathroom closet and throw away things I do not need. Nope. Not done. Really needs to happen, my closet is very full.

~Get up early three days a week to work out on the elliptical. HAHAHA no. We’re just not going to talk about this one.

~Order our family Christmas cards Done! Just need to work on getting them out to people!

~Plan Ollie’s birthday party and his special mom/dad day Yes! We took Saturday as a family to do a few things and then yesterday had a donut party with our extended family.

~Plan a special birthday date night for me and Nate Yes! We had a lovely night for the two of us.

~Schedule Ollie’s yearly doctor appointment and his first dentist appointment Halfway. The doctor appt is scheduled, the dentist appt is not. But we met some great folks at the Santa event we went to this weekend so I think we’ll be going to them soon.

~Paint another picture. Nope. There just wasn’t time.

Overall I feel pretty good about November. I am hoping to keep December’s goals pretty straightforward and achievable with how busy things can be at this time of year.

December Goals

~Mail Christmas cards

~Finish up Christmas shopping

~Wrap gifts

~Bake cookies

~Do a Christmas craft with Ollie

~Find a new pair of walking/running shoes

~Make Ollie’s dentist appointment

~Take some time for myself – a bath, paint a picture, color in a coloring book

Pretty much all of them are related to the Christmas season. I don’t mind though! And my mantras for the month are focused on enjoying the holiday season as well.

December Mantras

I’m going to make this month and this holiday count! Feel free to link up any goals and mantra posts below and check out the other bloggers as well!

  1. Nice progress on your November goals… but let’s talk about the workouts on the elliptical – haha 🙂

Great goals for December – so many of those things sound less like chores, but great activities for the holiday season!

  2. Holidays tend to be either much better or much worse than normal times, due to the added obligations and stress. I find the opportunity to spend time with family to be deeply rewarding. Hope you, Nate and Ollie have fun this December!

  3. I think you did awesome on your November goals, especially considering you had both Thanksgiving and kid birthday planning! That’s great you were able to carve out some date time as well, I’m sure you needed that! Good luck with December–I have lots of similar things on my list for this month.

  4. I LOVE all of your mantras. Really fantastic. Sounds like you did a great job with November! We never did a Thanksgiving craft like I wanted to, so I’m hoping to get something done for Christmas. I’m also way behind in cards. I still have to send out Thank yous from Bex’s birthday in October. Yikes.

  5. I think you did well on your November goals, and here’s a great December! I think most of my goals and/or intentions for the month would be holiday focused too. I really want to enjoy the season and all the fun things that come with it without getting too stressed!

  6. Wow, you demolished last months goals. It looks like the goals for December will be easily reached as well. I think I will start setting goals in January, I think life will slow down a little by then. Good luck with this month!

  7. THE taking time for yourself is so key. I’m one day into this working mom thing and already I’m hearing myself say “oh, I said I was going to go for a run this evening to clear my head, but I don’t have time. I should hunt for missing soothers and tidy the living room instead”. The closer we get to Christmas, the harder it will be. I think some of it comes from the love of the magic of Christmas but the fear that we have to create the magic. Especially when kids are involved. But the more time we spend trying to fabricate the magic, the less likely we are to see the magic through the eyes of our kids.

I think I went off on a tangent. Whoops! I guess yay for December goals?

  8. Well done on your November goals!
Your mantras are great – “Make it a December to remember” is so cool.
Good luck with your December goals – making time for yourself during this busy time of year is essential 🙂

  9. I love that all of your December goals are holiday related. It is important to enjoy the holiday season and make sure you get in what you want. I’ve also been MIA from blogging for awhile and wanted to say I love your new look here! Hope it is a great week!

  10. I love how you smashed most of your goals for November. I need to be more specific on mine, I think. I really need to clean out Jeff and I’s closets and find a place I can donate to or a consignment shop for some of my older work pieces that don’t fit me any longer. I have a problem donating to Goodwill and those places when they really mark up the prices on their items.

I love the most important gifts meme. So true and I think I could read that ten times over. 🙂

Happy December love, I hope it’s a good one for you. xoxoxo

  11. I’m so sorry I’m late to this party–I’ve had this open in my browser to leave a comment since yesterday. WHOMP! You ROCKED your November goals, girl! Good on you! Also I love your upcoming goals for this month. Keeping it simple for such a hectic time of year is a smart strategy. If you find a good pair of running/walking shoes, can you let us know? I just purchased Converse and I love them (cute old school kicks) but they’re not as comfy for the gym as I was hoping. Also I love that you had the elliptical one on there. This is such a hard time of year to stay on the workout bandwagon and I have really fallen off myself. There’s always January 🙂 LOL
