Tuesday Topics – Three Things to be Grateful For

As I said last week, I’m going to finish Tuesday Topics even though our host is taking some time off. This week’s theme is Three Things to be grateful for, which is quite timely given the mantras I posted about yesterday! I also always look at things from the week to be happy and grateful for each Friday, but we can never talk about the good things in our life enough right? So here are three big things I’m grateful for.

(1) Never having to pay for childcare. My mom has graciously watched Ollie for us since I first went back to work and we are forever thankful. We do pay for his school, but as far as childcare goes we are so, so blessed. My parents also willingly watch him on other occasions if we need, as does Nate’s parents and his sister. They all do it because they love him and spending time with him. My mom always says she gets paid in hugs and kisses. And I’m just forever grateful.

(2) A husband who loves to cook. Yes I brag about this quite often, but I am seriously so lucky that he loves cooking so much and keeps us so well fed. I’m not even sure when we shifted to having him be the one to do the majority of the cooking anymore, but he has for years now. And he has perfected some recipes that are so good. It has made my life far less stressful. I am the one to do all the cleaning, but I’ll gladly do it to enjoy delicious meals!

(3) This blogging community. I am SO grateful for all of you who come here and read my babbles and share in my life. I have been doing this for many years now and I’m still in awe of the connections I’ve made and the long lasting friendships, even those that span across the miles. I hope to be here for many years to come and I am pretty sure I will be, you all fuel my fire and I thank you so much!

And those are just some of the things I’m eternally grateful for. I just wanted to give them special attention in this month of thankfulness.

What are some things you are grateful for this November?

  1. You are so lucky that you have free childcare. I paid 600 a month before school age and now I pay over 300 for after care.
I can’t remember the last time someone cooked for me. Lucky girl!!
Yes. I love my fellow bloggers too. Grateful for you!!

  2. I’m loving that blog graphic – so true sometimes! You’re so lucky your husband likes to cook!! I’m so not a cook, but I’m trying to get better at it since I need to eat more healthy meals. Sigh.

I’m also very thankful for the community of bloggers!

  3. Aww, I loved this list. It’s so wonderful that you have your parents and Nate’s parents help out with Ollie so much. (My parents help with my sister’s kids and she doesn’t know what she would do without them!).

I am hoping you will share some of Nate’s famous recipes, now that you bragged about them 🙂

So happy to have found you through the Peaceful Posse!

  4. Lol love that blog meme, so funny. I just wrote about gratitude, too! Not having to pay for childcare is amazing and that food looks so yummy. It’s the little things!

  5. We didn’t have to pay for childcare either and it was such a god send. I have heard that the prices are out of this world. It’s such a shame too. Although I kind of wish that we had put my son in some sort of program that was at least a day or two a week to help him transition better because that first year of school – the first 3 months – was absolutely atrocious. The teacher had to drag him in the school. Yup.
My husband only BBQ’s. That’s it. It’s ok though. I stay at home so I don’t mind. I mean, I wouldn’t mind it if he would cook sometimes 😉

  6. Lovely gratitude list!
That is wonderful that you’ve got help with Ollie and don’t have to worry about paying for childcare.
My hubby does all our cooking and it is something I don’t take for granted – we’d have to live on takeout before risking my cooking haha!
This blogging community is amazing and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

  7. I’m totally with you on the blog community–I’m so thankful for that too! I have to admit that I’m jealous of your lack of childcare expenses. With both kids in daycare/preschool our cost is more than our mortgage payment. Eek. So needless to say I’m anxious for Jona to start Kindergarten, ha!
