Humpday Confessions 9.20.17
You guys, this week has been so crazy busy that I don’t know which way is up! So, it seems like a good day to hop into the confessional and share some Humpday Confessions. Let’s bare all!
~ I have a mountain of laundry that I just can’t seem to catch up with. Oh it’s all clean. I am good at actually keeping up with washing my clothes, it’s the folding and putting away the clean stuff that suffers. I had to go on a pilgrimage just to find socks for Ollie this morning.
~ I caught Taylor cat on the table this morning helping herself to Ollie’s leftover mac and cheese from last night and I didn’t stop her. She’ll probably puke later. But I decided to let her be happy in the moment.
~I have convinced Ollie that we should be donuts for Halloween. This may be the easiest costumes we have ever put together. Thank you Target.
~I broke my secondhand style challenge by a whopping $6.99 the other day at CVS because I was cold and they had fleece lined leggings. I was wearing a dress so thought, hey, if I get these I’ll be warm! I can see why they were only $6.99. I was pulling them back up over my behind all the rest of the day.
~I have already commissioned my birthday present from my sister-in-law for this year. She’s a knitter and I found a unicorn scarf that I asked her to make. She’s already rocking it and sending preview pictures. I don’t need surprises. And yes my birthday is still two months away.
That’s my story this week. Nothing too scandalous I suppose. I have to say, while I love having things going on, it seems September traditionally just is always so crazy busy for us. I’m looking forward to October being just a little bit calmer! Because confession – I’m an introvert. I don’t think that’s a huge secret though.
If you want to confess anything, feel free to join me in the comments!
The mac and cheese confession made me laugh. I used to scrape cheese off the side of the bowl with my finger then wipe it on my cats and they would be preoccupied for a very long time.. 🙂
Thanks for being fresh and honest!
I love this post! I can definitely relate, especially to the mountain of laundry.
LOL I love the early, commissioned birthday gift. I like picking my own gifts too–you’re never disappointed that way. And I love the donut costume idea!! So fun. I think the kids are going to be Minions this year.
Being donuts would be fun! I’m planning on going to Halloween event near the end of October, and I need to figure out something to wear. I need to get thinking…

Isla chose unicorn bedding over the weekend. You have a unicorn friend in Scotland!
YES!!! Unicorns are the BEST! Give her a high five for me!
I’ve had more success with laundry since starting a new rule: When i pull clothes from the dryer, I fold them. Not all fancy KonMari fold, but I’ll leave the washing machine with a stack of clothes to sort and put away rather than an armful, which gets kicked around and dirty again.
My confession. I have a sore throat, and I kind of wish I’d get all-out sick to get a day to rest and recover on the couch.
A “not too sick, but a little sick” kind of sick day doesn’t sound so bad. I could go for a day of watching shows and movies 🙂
I’m totally with you on the laundry. I’ve got laundry mountain over here. It’s never-ending. I need a laundry robot that will do it all for me. Including folding and putting it all away. hehe.
I suck at laundry, haha. I always wait as long as possible before I have to do it. So, you’re doing better than I am – at least your laundry is CLEAN laundry!
And hey, I’m an introvert, too. Always cool seeing other introverts in the wild. 🙂
Haha! It is clean laundry for NOW. That will always change because the cycle is neverending!
Introverts unite! But in our own homes, am I right? Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Donuts will be the cutest costumes ever! Savor those times when your kid lets you pick. Mine have a mind of their own now and can’t be persuaded. Haha!
I am all for requesting presents and getting sneak peeks! I’m sure it will be gorgeous !
What fun Beth facts! Hope to see pics of the donut costumes.
I fall into the same laundry trap… I find it easiest to fold it right out of the drier and into the basket. That way it’s not as much work to sort when I get it upstairs. Problem is I still end up with 4 baskets all ready to be brought upstairs and put away. Half the battle anyway!
Confession: I’ve been on Scott’s case about never being caught up on laundry (it’s his job), and so he got a little grumpity and was like: “if you think it’s so easy, you do it!” So I did it all. Sorted. Washed. Dried. Folded. Put away. All in an afternoon. Just to prove him wrong. It took some bribing of children with television. Probably not an ethical way to win, but it’s also a huge exaggeration to say it takes longer than a weekend to do a week’s worth of laundry.
I’m totally with you on the laundry…except I still have a huge pile of dirty clothes too. Ugh. Neverending. I hope your kitty enjoyed the mac and cheese and didn’t throw up. Hope the rest of the week goes by fast and you can enjoy your weekend!
Surprisingly there was no cat puke, so that was good! And the laundry cycle just never ends!!
Oh I love these confessions! Donuts for Halloween might be the cutest costume idea. Also I totally want a unicorn scarf. You’ll have to share pictures!!!
Hahahah!!! That’s hilarious re fleece leggings. I love cvs. I spend way too much time and money there.
Xoxo and hope things calm down for you soon!! Xo
I will! At the rate she’s going I may have it before my actual birthday, ha! I got her excited about making it I guess!
Donuts for Halloween costumes sounds adorable! And I hear you regarding the clean clothes. Have my wardrobe is sitting in clothes baskets waiting for me to put it away. lol
I keep thinking if I have less laundry baskets to fill up maybe the problem will go away! Wrong! LOL. By the way, I just discovered my comments from you have been going into my spam filter! I fixed the issue, but I just wanted you to know I wasn’t ignoring you on purpose or anything! 🙂
I hope you’ll post pics of your donut costumes 🙂
And your unicorn scarf!
Can relate to the laundry!
There will be pictures! I promise!
I had a mountain of laundry that my dog was eyeing up to lay in but I took care of it yesterday – BOOM!….only for it to start up again this weekend…so there’s that. The cycle continues.
You are hardcore into unicorns and I love that about you.
Also, I am all for donut costumes. You need someone to be Homer. I’ll be Homer.
Homer is a fantastic idea! Please come be my Homer!
Where is that damn laundry fairy when we need her??
I’m the same with clothes! I’m good about getting them washed, and sometimes I’m even good about folding them once they’re out of the wash. Right now all my clothes are washed and folded, but they’re not in the closet yet. 😂 Hope the rest of your week goes well!
My confession for this week is we move in less than a month across the country and I haven’t started packing! Sometimes we just need to live without worrying about the small things.
