What's Up Weekend

What’s Up Weekend 7.21.17

Yay FRIDAY! This week went by kind of fast and I’m grateful for that! Weekends are life around our house lately, so I’m glad we’re almost there. Before it’s here, it’s time to take a look back at the week and the things that made me happy or grateful in What’s Up Weekend with my Peaceful Posse Peeps (say that three times fast, ha!)

(1) Quality family time last weekend. Getting to visit the Children’s Museum again and disc golf and do all of our favorite things together.

(2) A sushi feast with Nate on our date night at home this last Monday.

(3) My book club’s reading picks for the second half of the year. I’ll admit I’ve been slacking on reading lately, but the chosen books have me fired up to start again.

(4) Speaking of re-energizing, Nate and I had our quarterly meeting as a part of that Traction program we do for taking care of our household needs and we’re refocusing on some things at home and I’m excited about getting back on track.

(5) All the new goodies I obtained at the clothing swap and through my LLR popup. My closet feels so refreshed now.

(6) Making plans for the Fall, I don’t want to rush summer, but there are some fun things coming up in the Fall that I’m getting very excited for.

(7) Reconnecting with some people I haven’t seen in a long time or even talked to much lately.

(8) Celebrating love and longevity. My aunt and uncle on my dad’s side just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary yesterday. In a world that can be so cynical it’s nice to see love that lasts so long. It’s a beautiful thing.

(9) Ollie’s imagination. I love his creative play right now and the things he comes up with. He always makes me smile no matter the day.

(10) Chex Muddy Buddies (aka Puppy Chow). World’s Best, um, well, PMS food. Sorry if that’s TMI.

This weekend holds no major plans for us, sounds like we can expect one hot day and one less hot day, so I think we’ll plan accordingly as to our outdoor activities! Might have to spend some time in a pool tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. In blogging, there is no such thing asTMI lol. Also that sounds like great pms food–will have to check it out 🙂

Aww congrats to your aunt and uncle on 60 years together! Also I love sushi and glad to see Ollie flex his creative muscles 🙂 here’s to a beautiful summer and fun fall!!

    1. Hehe, I’m glad there’s no TMI. And Muddy Buddies are the best – chex mix, peanut butter, chocolate. Perfection. NOM.

  2. You know the spiral slide at the children’s museum? My cousins playground company put that in. Little tid bit. I really want to bring Jake there. Looks like a fun time.
I miss sushi. I love it!!
Ollie makes me smile when I see his face.
Oh, I hate to admit this but I am not really into summer. I prefer fall. I hate being hot!

    1. That’s so awesome that your cousin’s business helped put that in! So fun! Jake will love the Museum, there is SO much to do!! And I don’t like it being super hot either truth be told. 🙂

  3. Ahhhh puppy chow is my favorite. I LIKE the Chex Mix version, but I much prefer when it’s homemade! (Though I’ve never made it homemade, hahhahaa).

  4. Ollie is my favourite little bean.
We just had sushi – although it was from the grocery store, it was still pretty decent. I’ve been pecking at my husband to go to a real restaurant for it.
I am in awe that you’re gearing up for fall. I’m just squeaking through summer. EEKS! Fall makes me itchy a bit. I cling on to summer days like it’s no body’s business.
My PMS food is all of it. ALL. OF. IT.

    1. Aw, thanks! He’s mine too, obviously 😉
Our sushi came from the grocery store. No shame. It’s actually pretty good for grocery store sushi!!
Pass me the chocolate, burgers, fries, chips, all of it. Yep.

  5. I love that you and your husband have a regular meeting. It is something my husband and I are thinking of doing. I’m also in need of a good book club, I’m a little envious that you have one and are fired up!! Hope it is a great weekend.

  6. I just had book club this week, and I finally finished the book instead of just going to drink the wine 😉 I love seeing Ollie’s little smiley face…such a cutie! Have a fantastic weekend!

  7. Oh my gosh, I LOVE muddy buddies. I have to make that stuff all the time. I love that you guys have a date night, even if it’s at home. That’s a great habit to keep! Hope you have a great weekend!

  8. Totally no TMI in blogging! I don’t know if I’ve had that snack…it sounds great.

I love kid’s imaginations. It’s so much fun to just watch them play sometimes. 🙂

  9. Mmm, I love “puppy chow”! That sounds so good. 60th wedding anniversary–that is so awesome!! I hope Aaron and I can live long enough to see that one!

  10. I like that a lot – Peaceful Posse Peeps, it’s catchy.

So I have to ask, what is the traction program you speak of??

Do you know, I haven’t eaten cereal in over two or three years? I used to love cereal at night, but when we initially went paleo, we cut grains and sugars out and that’s right in the top of their list of ingredients. I miss it though. I kinda think I’m PMSing, or maybe I just have rage in the last week. My tolerance for stupidity and non sense is at a bare minimum. I just can’t deal with stupid people, or stupid questions, ya know?

Anniversaries are such a time of celebration – that’s amazing!! We celebrate our tenth next year and are going to Barbados for two weeks. I only hope to grow to be an old fart with my hubby. 🙂

Cheers to a good week my dear. Xoxoo

  11. Is that a Lularoe dress? Just bought my first pairs of leggings and I feel like I have been picking them out lately- either way, it’s beautiful on you! I honestly can’t wait to have kids (not ready just yet lol) to just listen to them and observe, they do the funniest things and really brighten your whole day!

  12. My friend who has a “pet” tarantula she rescued wants me to hold hers tomorrow when I go to pick her up to bring her (back to my place to look after the boys for our trip). I’m so afraid of spiders but I figure why the F not?! Take a chance. I say this as I stood stock still in fear with a spider crawling up my bedroom wall yesterday. LOL

    Love you babes! xo
