Currently in June

It’s the first Wednesday of June and that means it’s time for the monthly Currently link up with Anne of In Residence and her co-host this month, Erin of Love, Fun and Football! I’m kind of still in shock that it’s JUNE. Man alive. But I’m ready for all this month has to offer. Here are some current happenings in my crazy world!

~Currently I Am~

Planning – for our vacation next week. Ollie’s getting excited about it even if it doesn’t remember his last trip to Itasca (he was 18 months last time). I’m starting lists of things to pack and things that need to get done before we go. The beauty of driving up north to a cabin though is that we can take as much as we need, unlike when we travel by plane. And we know we can drive into Park Rapids and hit up Walmart if we forget something!

Wishing – for an endless supply of money. Does that make me sound shallow? Maybe. But I’m kind of embarking on a little bit of a no-shop summer to try and save up more so we can keep doing fun things like next week’s vacation. So, it’s necessary I guess!

Learning – to play around with my Lularoe pieces in fun and new ways. I have been watching a ton of style videos on YouTube (maybe a few too many, I have let my reading slide a bit this month!) and I’ve been getting bolder at playing around with my Perfect Ts and my skirts a bit. One thing I’m definitely learning – embrace the use of a belt.

Browsing – Mostly online window shopping, especially on ThredUp. I sent a bag to them late last week, so I should have some credit with them soon and if I’m feeling the shopping bug I might end up cashing in on that!

Going – To Itasca State Park! If you aren’t familiar, it’s a state park in Northern Minnesota that houses the Headwaters of the Mississippi River. Nate and I took our honeymoon there 11 years ago and we try to get back there every couple of years. Sometimes we stay in a suite, this time we have a cabin. I’m so, so, SO excited to get away from it all and relax in my Northwoods heaven.

That’s what’s new in my world! I’ll be around the rest of the week and I’m hoping to get some posts pre-scheduled for next week so you might not even notice I’m gone, wink wink.

Be sure to check out Anne and Erin’s blogs for more Currently posts or to add your own!

  1. Awww, I hope you guys have a wonderful time on your vacation! I’ve never heard of Itasca before; but a state park is always beautiful (as is staying in a cabin!). Wonderful that Ollie gets to join this year, and that he’s older so can hopefully remember some things this time around.

Also I’m trying to do the same re: saving and had that thought yesterday, too. I don’t want endless streams of income, but just enough to afford simple luxuries without having to feel guilty about purchasing them, ya know?

  2. Don’t forget to pack your passport for an impromptu trip to see me :p

I’m with you on the money. I’m feeling a shopping binge coming on and it’s a hard one to curb.

  3. I hear you on the “wishing”–I feel like we never can seem to get ahead, there’s always some expense that comes up. Agh!
And I’m also browsing ThredUp and waiting for some credit. I hope it comes soon!
Enjoy your vacation, have a wonderful time!

  4. VACATION! YAY! Oh I can’t wait to go on a real one. We haven’t planned an official one yet. That kind of bums me out…I need something to look forward to.
And I wish for money all the time. MAke it rain on me baby!
You are incredibly stylish and I wish that I could mix and match pieces so well as you do! I just don’t have the eye for it. I literally have to go on Pinterest and just copy everyone!

  5. Everyone seems to have just got back from vacation (me!) or about to go on one (you!) haha- I hope you have a great time. That park sounds amazing. I have never stayed in a state park or anything like that but have always wanted to!! 🙂 I need to watch some LLR videos and get more ideas of how to style my stuff too! Good reminder 😉

  6. I’m with you on driving vs. flying. I did a road trip to Kentucky to check out the Bourbon Trail just so I could purchase as much as I wanted to without worrying! Much less stressful trying to smoosh everything back into luggage. And I love the simplicity of ThredUp- hope you get some credit! I usually do shopping bans to save up for the fun stuff too, but it’s so worth it. Hope you have a great vacation!

  7. So exciting for your upcoming vacation! It’s so nice to go off the grid for a while and just embrace the quality time with family! <3

  8. I haven’t done much state park exploring since I’m usually at my parent’s house, but sounds like you have a great trip planned!

  9. Yay for vacation time to your happy place. We haven’t taken Hendrik on a trip in quite a while either and are excited for a mini getaway this weekend – even though it’s still plenty of work to plan/pack, they’re getting to be such better ages to have fun with travel, don’t you think?

  10. I’m right there with you wishing for an endless supply of money. 😉 Have a great time on your trip! That sounds like such a relaxing way to spend time as a family and even though I’ve never even to any part of Minnesota, I can imagine that area has to be gorgeous!

  11. Getting ready for a trip is so exciting! Honestly, I think everyone wishes for an endless supply of money too… wouldn’t it be nice just to wake up and not have to worry about that? Anyway, happy packing, and I hope you three have the best time!

  12. God, yes, endless money supply would be awesome… I mean, just enough to not have to worry about it 😉

hope you’re having a great trip!!
