#TC Talk

If you’re local and you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen the last couple of weeks I’ve been participating in a Twitter chat on Monday nights called TC Talk.  It’s hosted by the fabulous Laura of One Girl, Two Cities and it’s been an awesome way to connect with other local folks about all things Minneapolis and St. Paul.

If you’ve never participated in a Twitter chat before how they work is, basically there is a set time for the chat, the questions for discussion are often sent out ahead of time and then you spend the hour online discussing the questions and including the hashtag for the chat so others can find you and see your answers.  It’s a great networking tool and in the case of TC Talk, it’s been a wonderful way to learn more about my local area and what it has to offer!  The first week was kind of getting to know each other and sharing our various favorite things in the Twin Cities area such as restaurants.  Last week was co-hosted by Sara of SocialSara612 and was all about Fall activities. This week is co-hosted by yours truly and we’re going to talk about Minnesota Beer!  I am quite excited about it, the beer industry is really growing here so this should be a great discussion!

I have really been enjoying these chats – it’s so much fun getting to know other folks in the area and as I said above, learn more about the city I live in while sharing some of my favorite things and imparting some of my own knowledge!  If you’re local, I really recommend checking it out.  And even if you’re not local, check out Twitter for other chats – they really are a wonderful networking tool and I know there are many topics out there from blogging to fashion to business related things.

Have you ever participated in a Twitter chat? And I hope you’ll join Laura and I tonight if you’re here in the Twin Cities from 8:00 to 9:00 pm for a chat on MN Beer!

  1. I’m bummed I won’t be around for this #TCTalk! I’ll have to creep on everyone’s tweets afterwards cause I love me the MN Beer scene and know there’s lots of brews and taprooms I still have to try!

  2. Oh fun! Perfect theme for you too! Ah, twitter. It’s something I really would like to be more active on but it always falls to the bottom of the list. I love that you’re using it to talk about something you love and engage with your community.
