Thrift Style Thursday – Fanfare

For this week’s Thrift Style Thursday, Kristi from Delightfully Kristi asked us to geek out and dress up like our favorite TV character, movie character, book character, etc.  In the spirit of my new job and the fact that it was Amy Poehler’s birthday yesterday and I think she’s my spirit animal, I chose Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation.  While Leslie’s style isn’t exactly in tune with mine, I was able to put a Bethie spin on a Leslie look.  Here’s an example of Leslie:

And here is my spin on it:

Jacket – Consignment, Cami and pants – Old Navy, Shoes – from mom

I always think of a blazer when I think of Leslie Knope and this one is perfect for a warmer day.  Dress slacks just aren’t my thing so I swapped them out for pixie pants.  Add some heels and boom.  A very simple look for the office!

These are not the pictures I wanted to use, I had Nate take my picture at home this morning but then forgot my card reader for the SD card – oops.  But that’s ok, you get one last look at my old office – if you followed my old blog, remember when all of my outfit of the day photos were taken here?  Ah, memories.

What is your favorite TV/movie/book character?  How would you dress like them?  Be sure to check out the other Thrift Style Thursday gals at their blogs below to see who they are celebrating their fandom of today!

  1. I like your outfit better. It's such a fun take on an otherwise classic office look. In a dream life, I'd dress like Olivia Pope. However, that doesn't go well with having too little kids. She wears a lot of white.

  2. I love that Leslie Knope is your spirit animal. That’s awesome! And this look is spot on for being her fan. She would totally wear something like this 🙂

  3. I LOVE your interpretation of Leslie from Parks and Rec! Such a cute work look, but still with lots of personality, just like Amy Poehler’s character!! Love it! 🙂
