Thrift Style Thursday – Taking Risks
Megan suggested the theme of “Taking Risks” today for Thrift Style Thursday. I’m not much of a risk taker overall, so I wasn’t quite sure what I would do for today, but then I remembered this dress.
Now you might be looking at this dress and saying, what is so risky about that? Well, this dress was a risk because I didn’t bother trying it on at the store. I just grabbed it because I liked the colors and the price was reasonable. I don’t usually do that, I normally will take the time to try things on. I guess I was in a hurry that day or something! Anyway, for the most part, this was a risk worth taking, the dress does fit and looks pretty good. The only challenge is that it is actually a bit big for me in my, ahem, “girls” department, so I just make sure I wear a bra with a bit more “oomph” and it seems to help. It’s also a little shorter than I was expecting , it’s a bit risky to wear to work I suppose, but I think it works ok!

Mr. Oliver wanted to play today too. I find buying toddler clothing is always a risk when you’re doing it secondhand, while something may say it’s the correct size, you just never know if it’s been washed and shrunk or something like that. I found these plaid shorts at the thrift store in what is technically his size right now and was pleasantly surprised that they actually fit him quite well! He loves them too if you can’t tell!
So there you have it. That’s about as risky as I get – buying things without trying on, wow, what a rebel am I!! I’m still having some trouble getting the Thrift Style Thursday graphic to load properly, my apologies to the other girls, but please be sure to hit up our Facebook page and you’ll be able to see all the posts for the week there. I hope to have this working properly eventually, it’s always something with a new blog layout!
Well it was a risk worth taking! What a cute dress! And I am a sucker for toddler plaid shorts–I've thrifted so many for Reilly that he wears a pair everyday without having to do laundry! Whoopsie!
I love, LOVE that dress! It's super cute. I know what you mean about trying things on. I always make sure that I try things on – such a nerd am I! Ollie looks adorable as always!
